Women's Basketball Faces Off Against Regis on Friday In Exhibition

GAME INFORMATION
The University of Northern Colorado women's basketball team will kick off the 2006-07 season with an exhibition contest on Friday evening against Division II foe Regis University (7:05 p.m.). The game will be the first under new head coach Jaime White and first women's basketball game in the newly renovated Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.

Admission to the game is free. Northern Colorado basketball fans are invited to an open house prior to the contest. There fans will have the chance to purchase season tickets for the season and can pick the seats in which they want to sit for the entire season. Doors open for the event at 6 p.m.

Women's basketball season tickets are just $50 for the season. Fans also have a chance to purchase Courtside VIP tables and seats as well.

Fans, who will also receive free popcorn, will get a chance to meet the women's team following the event, as the squad will sign autographs after the game.

THE BEAR FACTS
The Northern Colorado women's basketball team returns 11 players from a team that finished 13-15 and upset Illinois, Marquette and Nevada. Among those returnees is senior forward Heather Barbour, who was an All-Division I Independent honorable mention after averaging 11.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

The exhibition game will be a tune-up for the Bears, who will open the regular season on Nov. 11 at UMKC. The Bears will open the home regular season on Nov. 15 when they host Wyoming at 7:05 p.m. in what will be White's first game against her former team.
