Northern Colorado Nabs No. 3 Seed for Division I Independent Championships

The University of Northern Colorado women's basketball team will be the No. 3 seed going into the NCAA Division I Independent Championships in Orem, Utah. The tournament will take place on March 3-5 in the McKay Events Center on the campus of Utah Valley State.

The Bears (10-14) will take on the IPFW Mastodons in the first round of the tournament. The winner and loser of the No. 3 vs. No. 4 seeded game will automatically move on to the semifinal but the loser will play the top seeded team remaining, while the winner will play the lowest remaining seed. The second round of pairings will be officially determined following the final game on Thursday night.

The Bears scored two wins over IPFW this season. Northern Colorado tallied a 77-48 win on Dec. 30 in Greeley and a 78-65 victory on Feb. 6 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
