Northern Colorado Notes

Bears Quick Notes

• Junior guard D'shara Strange became just the sixth player in Northern Colorado history to score 500 points or more in a season. She has scored exactly 500 points in the Bears' 32 games, averaging a team-best 15.6 per game.
• Both D'shara Strange and senior forward Lauren Oosdyke were named to the Big Sky Conference All-Tournament team. It was the second-straight honor for Strange and the first for Oosdyke.
• This year's team has broken the school's Division I record in rebounds (1,254), offensive rebounds (416), assists (444), blocked shots (119) and is on pace to break the record for scoring defense (55.75).
• Head Coach Jaime White was an assistant coach at Wyoming from 2003-06 for Joe Legerski before becoming the Bears' 11th head coach in 2006.
• D'shara Strange broke the Big Sky Conference Tournament records in free throws made (26), free throws attempted (32) and steals (13). She also tied the record for minutes played (113) and scored the fourth most points (64) in the Bears' three games.
• The Bears are playing in their second-straight WNIT and third-straight post-season. A year ago, the Bears lost to Colorado in the First Round, while in 2011 the Bears lost at CSU Bakersfield in the First Round of the WBI.
• Senior forward Lauren Oosdyke will play in her 126th game on Thursday, which is a new school record for games played. The previous record was 123 by Kaisha Brown (2008-11). Fellow senior Victoria Timm is one game behind Oosdyke with the game at Wyoming being her 125th.
