Bison Stampede On Friars, 3-0

GREELEY, Colo. -The North Dakota State Bison dominated the Providence Friars in a 3-0 win on Thursday night in Division I Independent Championships pool action at the University of Northern Colorado.

NDSU (3-30) did not have much trouble putting the pressure on Providence with wins of 30-22, 30-15 and 30-18, as NDSU's Lindsay Shockman-Rogers had 10 kills while her teammate Kim Hebl chipped in with nine. Bison outside hitter Sheila Parrish had a team-high 19 assists. NDSU held Providence to a hitting percentage of -.039 for the match.

The Friars' Sarah Fleming had seven kills while Providence's Annie Fiorvanti had a game-high 22 assists.

The Bison are 1-1 in pool play and return to action at 7 p.m. on Friday against interstate rival South Dakota State, who are 1-0 at the championships, at the UNC Recreation Center.

Providence (6-26) dropped to 0-2 in pool play and will faceoff against Utah Valley State (1-0 in pool play) at 4 p.m. on Friday at the recreation center.
