Jenny Glenn
Jenny Glenn is in her second season with Northern Colorado. She
is responsible for both outside hitters and defense for the Bears.
Glenn came to Northern Colorado from the SportsBridge Volleyball
Club in Centennial, Colo., where she was the head coach for the 18
National Team.
Prior to her stint with SportsBridge, she was head coach for the
Crush Volleyball Club in Centennial for the Navy 17-and-under team,
which she turned into a 2006 Junior National Qualifier.
“Jenny has been a wonderful addition to the staff.,”
Northern Colorado head coach Lyndsey Benson says. “Off the
court, she oversees the student-athletes’ academic progress
and is the primary recruiter of the 2009 class. On the court, she
trains our serve receive, defense and ball control.
“She also gets credit for leading us on our trip to China
this past spring, which was an incredible experience for our
team.”
Glenn played collegiately at Truman State University in
Kirksville, Mo., and she earned her master’s degree in
exercise physiology in 2005 at Purdue University in West Lafayette,
Ind., where she spent time as a graduate assistant coach for the
Boilermakers. She was also an assistant coach during the 2002-2003
season at Grandview High School in Aurora, Colo.
At Truman State, Glenn was a standout -- on the court and in the
classroom. She was a team captain for the Bulldogs and a three-time
all-conference and all-region selection, and in 2001 she helped
Truman State to a 37-2 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II
Elite Eight. She was also her class’s valedictorian in 2002,
when she received her bachelor of science degree in exercise
physiology.
“Defense has always been a trademark for UNC
volleyball,” Benson says, “and that continues with the
progress we have made in the last year under Jenny’s
direction.”
