ball player far beyond my expectations. It has been exciting to see
her grasp hold of her role on the team. Despite not carrying the
'title' of captain, Katelyn has developed into a strong leader for
the Bears this season."
2006: Played in 30 games as a freshman,
starting 10... spent the majority of her time as designated hitter
for the Bears offense... in 2007 will see some time on the pitching
mound for the Bears.
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner for
coach Patty Daily at Father Lopez Catholic High School in Daytona
Beach, Fla. ... Was a second-team all-state selection as a senior
... led team to district championship in 2004 and 2005 ... served
as the team captain ... earned all-county honors as a senior ...
batted .352 with 20 runs, two home runs, eight RBI and a .519
slugging percentage ... as a pitcher, was 6-4 with 44 strikeouts
and 12 walks to go along with a 1.89 earned run average ... was
team MVP from 2002-05 ... also lettered in swimming (4), volleyball
(4) and basketball (4) ... led state in rebounds as senior
