Lisa Kosena (pronounced Co-Scene-a), after an outstanding career at Cal State Fullerton, begins her first year on the Northern Colorado coaching staff in 2007. She ended her soccer playing career with a two-year stay with the Titans from 2004-05. With CSF, Kosena was a first-team All-Big West selection and a member of the first-team All-Academic team. She was also part of a team that reached the Sweet-16 as a junior, where the squad fell to Virginia. As a member of the Titans, Kosena played in 43 games, scoring six goals and three game-winners with three assists. Kosena stayed at Cal State Fullerton in 2006 as a student assistant and aided the team to 12 wins, the Big West Tournament Championship and a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament. She started her coaching career working youth camps for the Colorado Storm, Arizona and Cal State Fullerton. The former midfielder began her collegiate playing career with Arizona, where she spent her freshman and sophomore seasons (2003-04). During her time with the Wildcats she played in 37 games and had nine goals and six assists. Kosena was born in Denver, Colo., and attended Cherry Creek High School. While a prep, she led Cherry Creek to a state championship as junior and earned All-Centennial League honors as senior. She currently resides in Greeley and is coaching the U14 girl's team for the Northern Colorado Soccer Club.
