Women's Golf Eighth After Day One of Troy Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of Northern Colorado women's golf team is eighth out of 15 schools after day one of the Troy Intercollegiate hosted by Troy University and being held at the Arrowhead Country Club.

Individually, junior Regina Rodriguez had a round of 75 (+3) on Monday and is 13th overall. That is six strokes off the lead of South Alabama's Elin Andersson (69, -3).

Junior Jenny Henderson is one stroke behind Rodriguez (+4), while Matti Nelson and reigning Big Sky Golfer of the Week Kelley Newton are tied in 46th place at +8. Sophomore Heather Daviner is 57th (+10).

South Alabama also leads the team competition after a combined round of 292 (+4). Northern Colorado is seven places back at +23 after the first round.

Play at the event will conclude with 18 rounds on Tuesday morning.
