Women's golf within striking distance in Hawai'i
After two rounds of play at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course, the Northern Colorado women's golf team sits in ninth out of 17 teams with a team score of 631, 28 strokes behind leader Nova Southeastern. Chelsea Silvers shot a 9-over-par 81 during the first round Monday but came back to shoot a 1-over 73 in the second round Monday afternoon and end the first day tied for 14th.

Women's golf ends in 10th at Red Rocks Invitational
Northern Coloradohad a better second day Sunday afternoon at Northern Arizona's Red Rocks Invitational and finished in 10th out of 18 teams. The Bears' Ali Nelson, who sat tied for 74th after the first day of the tournament, had a much stronger final round Sunday, shooting a 4-over-par 76 to finish tied for 27th overall with a two-round score of 162 (+18).

The 2010 Northern Colorado women’s golf season is officially underway at the Red Rocks Invitational at Oak Creek Country Club. After one round, the Bears sit in 15th place out of 18 teams with a team score of 340 (+59).

Women's golf picked fifth in Big Sky Conference preseason poll
The Bears received 33 points to come in just behind Portland State and just ahead of Weber State. Northern Colorado, which will begin spring play on Feb. 27 at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz., returns this season with sophomore Ali Nelson, the reigning Big Sky Conference individual champion.

Nelson, Dougherty help women's golf to seventh at Shocker Invite
Sophmore Ali Nelson and junior Emily Dougherty finish tied for 21st on Tuesday at the Wichita State Shocker Invitational, and Northern Colorado comes in seventh as a team at the par-72 two-round tournament at Sand Creek Station.

Freshman Silvers again leads women's golf
Freshman Carleigh Silvers (Martinsville, Ind.) was Northern Colorado's top individual finisher Tuesday at the CU Heather Farr Memorial Invitational at Colorado National Golf Club. She shot a 2-over-par 74 in round three to finish tied for 42nd with a three-round total of 233 (+17).

Silvers sisters lead the way for women's golf in Denver
Carleigh Silvers, a freshman from Martinsville, Ind., and Chelsea Silvers, a sophomore, shot identical 240 three-day totals during the tournament at Highlands Ranch Golf Club to finish tied for 47th overall. The Bears finished 12th as a team, coming in ahead of Big Sky-rival Montana State.
