National track and field meet underway in San Angelo, Texas

NCAA Track and Field Championship Results

The NCAA National Track and Field meet is underway. After day one, freshman Ron Jett looks to stay in contention for the top spot as he sits in sixth place with 3,771 points in the decathlon. He is 373 points out of first place. Junior Jill Fadenrecht sits in 13th place in the heptathlon with 2,725 points. Both athletes will finish those events Friday morning.

Katie Hostetler-Farris and Miranda Ernst will compete in the 3,000 meter race Friday at 5:30 p.m. Fadenrecht will finish the heptathlon Friday morning and compete in the high jump on Friday at 6 p.m. Kelly Cobb will throw the javelin on Saturday at 1 p.m. Callie Whitlock will compete in the pole vault competition at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
