GREELEY, Colo. - Kelsey Dumler was recently named to the 2007 Division I All-Independent Softball team. She was the only player on the University of Northern Colorado softball team to be honored.
A second-team selection, Dumler played second base and pitched for the Bears, and batted leadoff, where she led the team in several offensive categories, including hits (43) and at bats (157).
The senior from Kersey, Colo., scored a team-high 20 runs and had three triples. Her 52 total bases were the second most on the team, and she boasted a .309 on base percentage.
Dumler was also a successful pitcher for the Bears, appearing in 10 games with seven starts. Her ERA of 5.08 was the lowest on the team this year, and she struck out 11 batters in her 31 2/3 innings of work.
