Softball Drops Two Against Fort Hays State in North Platte, Neb.

The UNC softball squad got its long weekend off on the wrong foot as Fort Hays State swept a doubleheader from the Bears, 5-4 and 5-2.

The Bears met Fort Hays State in North Platte, Neb., en route to a conference weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Sioux City, Iowa.

Fort Hays State scored a 5-4 victory in game one with a run in the eighth inning. UNC reliever Stephani Miller suffered the loss.

UNC's bats were silenced in game two as Fort Hays captured a 5-2 triumph in the nightcap. Miller again suffered the loss for UNC.

The Bears are scheduled to play a doubleheader against Augustana on Friday before embarking Saturday for their NCC North-South Tournament.
