Game 1 - Box Score | Game 2 - Box Score

GREELEY, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado softball team fell victim to an overpowering Colorado State University Rams squad on Tuesday in doubleheader action at the UNC Softball Field.

The Rams scored a 12-2 victory in game one and followed it up with a 10-1 triumph in game two. Colorado State improved to 21-11 on the season, while Northern Colorado dropped to 8-17 overall.

GAME ONE
The Bears got on the board first in the bottom of the second. Freshman Kati Miller led off with a triple to right field and scored on an RBI single from sophomore Ashley Martinosky.

Colorado State responded with a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth.

Northern Colorado scored again in the fifth when sophomore Kelsey Dumler led off with a double. Dumler crossed the plate when Whitney Platten hit a shot to shortstop that CSU's Brittany Burtner could not handle. But that would end the scoring for the Bears in game one.

Colorado State blew the game wide open in the sixth when the first nine batters reached the plate. Dumler who had given up only four runs through the first five innings of worked was chased after facing eight batters in the sixth.

Freshman Monique Obra then saw her first action as a collegiate pitcher. Obra faced four batters and benefited from a double play to get out of the inning without allowing another run.

GAME TWO
The Rams picked up right where they left off by scoring six runs in the first inning of game two. The first six batters of the second game reached base safely and all scored to give the Rams a 6-0 lead.

The Bears scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the second inning after the Rams had scored a single run in the top half of the stanza. Freshman Morgan Dahlman had a leadoff triple and scored on a Martinosky single.

Colorado State added a single run in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth to take a 10-1 lead after five innings.
