Bears Split Doubleheader on Friday at Rebel Games
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The University of Northern Colorado softball squad earned its second win of the season by defeating the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in the Bears first game Friday at the Rebel Games.
The Bears used a solo home run by Whitney Platten in the sixth inning to earn the victory. Starting pitcher Stephani Miller pitched a complete-game seven-hitter to notch her first victory of the season.
UNC fell to 10th-ranked North Dakota State in the Bears' second game of the day. The Bison used a five-run fourth inning to pull away from the Bears and take the win. Starter Stacey Moon took the loss despite getting run support in the form of RBIs from Erika Trujillo, Miller and Erin Peterson.
The Bears fell to 2-10 on the season and will close out its action in the Rebel Games on Saturday with games against Augustana (S.D.) and Caldwell.
