Bears Drop Opener In Florida to Nebraska-Omaha, 8-2

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Northern Colorado softball squad lost to former North Central Conference foe Nebraska-Omaha in the Bears' first game at the Rebel Games in Florida, 8-2.

The 18th-ranked University of Nebraska at Omaha softball team improved to 14-3 on the season with two victories Monday over Northern Colorado, 8-2, and Georgian Court, 6-0. The Bears fell to 1-6 on the season.

The Mavericks exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the second inning while registering an 8-2 win over former NCC rival Northern Colorado. UNC's lone highlight came on a solo home run by senior catcher Erin Peterson.

UNC starting pitcher Stephani Miller took the loss in the contest.
