The University of Northern Colorado posted a 3-2 overall record at this past weekend's Charleston Southern Tournament. The Bears notched wins over Morehead State (4-2), Furman (2-1) and Providence (6-2).

"We really took a step forward with the program this weekend by having a winning record at the tournament," head coach Linda Witt said. "There were teams from nine different states at the tournament and we really represented ourselves well with three wins."

The Bears went 3-1 in pool play with their only loss coming to the No. 5-ranked University of Tennessee Lady Vols on Friday. Tennessee eventually won the tournament title on Sunday.

The Bears earned a pair of individual honors as both sophomore Kelsey Dumler and senior Whitney Platten were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Dumler went 3-0 in the pitching circle with a 2.49 ERA in four appearances. Platten hit .545 and notched her first home run of the season.
