Softball Drops Pair of Games

The Bears jumped out to the early lead against
Freshman Jessie Schoepflin went three-for-five as the lead-off batter and scored two runs for the Bears, while Kelli Henderson, Katelyn Landorf and Morgan Dahlman each added one hit. Mackenzie Barrett and Heather Buckley both tallied an RBI for the Bears.
Jamie Juelfs started in the circle for the Bears, throwing 2.1 innings and facing 12 batters. She gave up four runs on three hits with two walks and two strike outs.
In the second game of the day, the Bears scored five runs on seven hits, with a pair of hits each by Courtney Maihi and Buckley.
After holding the Thunderbirds scoreless in the top of the third inning, the Bears took the lead, 5-3 in the bottom half of the inning after adding two to their total. Jaycee Lovato reached on a fielder's choice and scored on the home run by James. In the top of the fifth inning,
Juelfs again started the game in the circle, pitching 4.2 innings giving up six runs on six hits with three walks and three strike outs in 26 batters faced.
