Editor's note: Softball senior Jamie Juelfs writes periodic blog updates for UNCBears.com throughout the softball season. She'll bring fans up to date on what exactly is going on behind the scenes with Northern Colorado softball.
Things are pretty quite around the UNC softball field, these days. Our individual workouts have continued, and school takes most of the priority these days. Don’t get me wrong, though. Our team is still working really hard to stay on top of our game, but we are rarely all together.
For individuals workouts, everyone is on a different schedule because we can only be on the field with coaches for two hours each week. So we have to be very efficient in the way that we practice. My teammates have been doing a great job of going out and working on their own. Our coaches were recently both gone recruiting for about five days straight, so we took control and practiced on our own.
Everyone is pretty stressed out with the end of the semester coming up, and most of the girls can’t wait for the approaching Thanksgiving break to be here. It will be a much-needed break from the stress of school.
Other than that, Northern Colorado softball is making its way through practice and strength and conditioning really well, and we cant wait for our spring season to start. We are staying in shape and making ourselves better everyday, so that when February gets here will be unstoppable.
I'll introduce in my next blog our senior class, including myself. These girls are pretty amazing and hold the heart and soul of the team.
