Softball will end fall with annual Alumni Game

GREELEY -- The University of Northern Colorado softball team is set to host its 2010 Alumni Game and celebration at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, at Butler-Hancock Softball Field. A BBQ, presentations by the current team and new coaches and an auction are also planned

Women ages 18 to 50-plus will gather for a friendly game. Some will have to dust off gloves, work out the creaks, and gear up for a day of friendly competition. The young college players will simply bring their "A" game.

Part of the day will include a tour of the newly renovated Butler-Hancock Athletic Center, which reopened in July after receiving a $15 million-plus facelift. Two aspects of the renovation included a new strength-and-conditioning center, as well as a spacious new team rooms for Northern Colorado softball.

"I am incredibly pleased with the improvements made at Northern Colorado and only wish it happened while I was there," said former Bear Katie White (1998-2002). "I am excited to see it with my past teammates in the upcoming weekend and will love meeting the current Bears team and coaches.”
