Bears Men's Tennis Falls To Gonzaga, Eastern Washington

CHENEY, Wash. - Northern Colorado's men's tennis team sits at 1-4 on the season after suffering a pair of 7-0 defeats Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8. The first loss came Friday to Gonzaga University at Spokane Racquet Club; the second came Saturday to Big Sky team Eastern Washington.

The Bears only match win - singles or doubles - in either of the duals came when Paul Tschetter and Vinnie Fallico knocked off Gonzaga's No. 1 squad of Steffan Feddersen and Zach Radetzky, 8-7(5).

Vinnie Fallico then came away with a close 7-5, 6-2 loss at No. 1 singles against Gonzaga.

Against Eastern Washington, the Bears lost all three doubles matches by 8-4 counts. The Eagles then followed with relatively easy singles wins. Fallico teamed with Tschetter for an 8-4 loss at No. 1 doubles, and Fallico followed with a 6-2, 6-1 loss at No. 1 singles.

The Bears will play again on Sunday, March 9, against Idaho at Eastern Washington University.
