Barrett Falls In Semifinals of Consolation Bracket at Drake Invite

DES MOINES, Iowa - After winning his first two matches in the Drake Invitational, freshman Kyle Barrett fell to Chad Olson of Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday in the consolation semifinal of Flight 'B' singles, 4-6, 3-6.

Barrett had won his previous matches in the consolation bracket over Javier Bernabe of Northern Illiniois and James McAvoy of Creighton to advance to Sunday's semifinal.

"He's got a lot of raw talent," said head coach Brenda Vlasak. "He played well considering it was his first collegiate tournament. He's going to be a very good college tennis player."

There was no consolation final because the semi-finalists were from Gustavus Adolphus.

The men's tennis team will compete again at the University of New Mexico Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque Oct. 6-8.
