Men's Tennis Rallies to Victory over UMKC on Sunday

GREELEY, Colo. - Down 3-2 with two matches to play, the setting wasn't ideal for the University of Northern Colorado men's tennis team in their Sunday meeting with UMKC, but Jeremy Behm-Meyer and Kyle Barrett each rallied after dropping the first set in their respective matches, leading the Bears to a 4-3 win over the Kangaroos, in the first event this spring on the Butler-Hancock Tennis Courts
Behm-Meyer finished his No. 6 singles match first, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, ensuring that Barrett's match would decide the afternoon.
Battling the Kangaroos' Erwin Quintanilla and a fading sun, Barrett dropped the first set 4-6, before rallying 7-6, 6-2 for the win, much to the delight of his waiting teammates, who snapped a seven-match losing streak in improving to 3-9.
UMKC swept doubles play, and took the No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches, but Northern Colorado also got victories from Kollman Gearhart at No. 2 - when his opponent retired after falling behind 4-0 in the first set - and Eric Kinsey at No. 5, 6-2, 6-2.
The Bears previously dropped a 7-0 decision to Montana on Friday at Work Out West.
