Men's tennis falters against Big Sky power Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Northern Colorado men's tennis team ran into a tough Sacramento State club to conclude the Spring Break trip with a 7-0 setback in Big Sky Conference action.

The Bears are now 2-10 on the year and 0-5 in league play, while the Hornets are now 8-8 overall and a perfect 5-0 in Big Sky matches.

Jeff Carlson played a great second set at number two singles for the Bears with just one late break of serve for the 7-5 loss after dropping the opening set 6-1 to Jason Smith.

At number four singles, Michael Moya won five games for the 6-3, 6-2 loss to Josh Lorentzen. Sophomore Travis Day also won four games, falling 6-1, 6-3 at number five to Javier Millan.

The Bears return to action on March 25 when they host Montana. Game time has yet to be determined.
