Men's Golf 15th After Day One of Air Force Invitational

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - In its season-opening event, the University of Northern Colorado men's golf team sits in 15th place after day one at the 38th Annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational being held at the Eisenhower Blue Course at the Air Force Academy.

Competing against a tough field the Bears combined for a score of +16, which is 26 strokes behind leader Colorado State. The Bears are just five strokes out of 12th place entering the final round of play.

Individually, sophomore Jordan Ensrud had rounds of 72 and 75 (+3) and is tied for 42nd overall. Senior Kyle Sullivan is a stroke behind Ensrud in 52nd while Eric Higgins is a stroke behind Sullivan in 60th. Jon Stecher is 76th overall (+7) while sophomore Derek Hofmeister is 87th (+11).

Nevada's Jared Becher is the individual overall leader at -9.

The final round of the event begins Sunday morning. S
