SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – After the second day at the America Sky Championships, the Northern Colorado men's golf team sits in fourth place. The Bears put together a second round combined score of 306 (+22).

Even though a majority of the team struggled in the second round, Nick Bisogno was a bright spot for the Bears, as he put together the day's only under-par score to catapult from 12th after day one all the way to the top of the leaderboard after round two. The senior from Olathe, Kan. finished his day with a 1-under par 70.

"Nick (Bisogno) was definitely our saving grace today," said Northern Colorado head coach Chuck Scheinost. "Him being the only golfer to score under par for us today was huge. He was able to keep us in this tournament and give us a chance tomorrow. Hopefully he can put together another good round and come away with a title."

Steve Bidne began his second round in second place, but got off to a rough start in the second round and shot a 9-over par 80. He now sits in a tie for seventh place.

Ryan Boshoven improved upon his first round 8-over par 79 with a 5-over par 76 in the second round. He currently finds himself in a tie for 22nd.

Troy Sidabras shot a 9-over par 80 in round two and sits in 37th, while Alberto Dell'Anna finds himself in a tie for 41st after 9-over par 80.

Sacramento State sits atop the team-leaderboard, while Weber State and Binghamton also finished the second day ahead of the Bears.

"Even though we struggled today, I made sure to remind the guys that we were nine strokes back in this same tournament last year and we came all the way back before giving it up late. We just have to continue to be aggressive and see if something special happens."

The Bears will look to make a major move up the leaderboards as they wrap up their final round at Troom North Golf Club.
