Bears finish up Denver Desert Shootout in 14th place

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Northern Colorado men’s golf team wrapped up its final day at the Denver Desert Shootout with a final round score of 302 (+14). The squad finished up the three-day event at the Palm Valley Golf Club with a total team-score of 892 (+28), landing them in fourteenth place.

The Bears were led by senior Rich Lash and junior Steve Bidne, who both ended their tournament with 3-over par 75s and finished with total scores of 221 (+5). Both golfers found themselves in a tie for 50th place at the end of the final round.

Wichita State’s Justin Garza earned medalist honors after finishing with a tournament score of 202 (-14). Nate Barbee (-11) of Kansas, Eastern Michigan’s Brandon Lemons (-9), and BYU’s Jordan Rogers (-7) rounded out the top-four.

Wichita State (-9) ended up taking the team title home too after defeating the Kansas Jayhawks in a playoff. Eastern Michigan (-6), BYU (-5), and Pacific (-4) rounded out the top-five schools.

Junior Nick Bisogno finished up with a 3-over par 75 to finish with a three-round score of 224 (+8), ending up in a tie for 61st.

Ryan Boshoven finished his tournament in 85th place with a total score of 230 (+14), while Alberto Dell’Anna finished up with a 233 (+17).

With just a few tournaments remaining, the Bears next look to bounce back on April 5th and 6th at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
