GREELEY -- CollegeHoopsDaily named its top conference players over the past three months and the Northern Colorado men's basketball team's leading scorer and rebounder, Derrick Barden, was named to the list of Big Sky players.

Barden, a 6-5 forward from Detroit, Mich., has led the Bears in scoring all season and is also second in double-doubles in the Big Sky with six. He is currently averaging 13.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game over the first three months of the 2013-14 season. Barden's field goal percent of .558 ranks 23rd in the nation while his rebound total ranks 52nd.

The Big Sky awarded Barden the Player of the Week honor two times following a season-opening double-double, 16 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, at Kansas State and after recording another double-double, 18-14, in the home conference opening win against North Dakota.

Joining Barden as the Big Sky's top players are North Dakota guard Troy Huff, Montana guard Kareem Jamar, Eastern Washington forward Venky Jois and Weber State center Kye Tresnak. Huff was selected as the Big Sky's Player of the Year so far.
