In a battle of Weld County talent, Northern Colorado freshman Justin Gonzales came out on top over third-ranked Oklahoma State in a rare Friday afternoon wrestling dual. Gonzales scored the only team points for the Bears (1-12), who lost 41-3 to the Cowboys (9-3-1) in front of 927 fans.
DeVoe Named To Columbus Hall of Fame
Northern Colorado assistant wrestling coach Austin DeVoe will be inducted into the Columbus (Kansas) Sports Hall of Fame at 7 p.m. Wednesday during the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Annual banquet.
Wrestling Prepares For Pair of Big 12 Opponents
Northern Colorado hosts third-ranked Oklahoma State on Friday at noon and then travels to Lincoln for a dual at Nebraska on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Free T-Shirts are being handed out to the first 250 fans on Friday. A season ago, the Bears lost duals to both teams, losing 41-3 at then-#9 Oklahoma State and 39-3 at then-#3 Nebraska.
