Hashimoto Gets Back On Track; Team Falters At UNI![]() RELATED CLICKS CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Northern Colorado senior Kenny Hashimoto shook off his first loss in dual action from Sunday, defeating Northern Iowa's Charlie Ettelson 9-4 for the Bears only points on Thursday in Western Wrestling Conference action. The Bears (1-11, 0-3 WWC) fell 35-3 to perennial league power Northern Iowa (5-8, 1-0 WWC). The match started at the traditional 125 pounds. Senior Tony Mustari lost a close 3-1 decision to Terrance Young, while sophomore Casey Cruz dropped a 14-8 decision at 133 pounds and UNI took the early 6-0 team lead. Hashimoto then took the mat, winning his sixth dual of the year and bringing his career dual record to 34-6. Northern Iowa won back-to-back close decisions at 149 and 157 as Trent Washington defeated freshman Justin Gonzales, 5-4 and Tyson Reiner won a 5-3 decision over junior Justin Gaethje. The Panthers won the final four bouts with a forfeit at 197 pounds for the 35-3 final. The Bears now take a break from WWC action, hosting #3 Oklahoma State on Friday, Jan. 29 at noon and are at #17 Nebraska on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (Central).
