Men's Golf Moves Up Pair of Spots at Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of Northern Colorado men's golf team improved its score by 12 strokes from day one to day two of the Food4Less Pacific Invitational and are in ninth place entering Wednesday's final round which is being held at the Brookside Country Club.

The Bears were aided by a pair of sub-70 rounds as senior Kyle Sullivan fired a 3-under 69 and fellow senior Jon Stecher had a 4-under score of 68 to power the team. Sullivan is 15th overall (-2) while Stecher is two strokes back in 23rd place (even par).

John Chin of UC Irvine, Erik Petersen of Rice and Daniel Summerhays of BYU are currently in a three way tie for first place (-9).

Other Bears golfers include sophomore Jordan Ensrud and junior Eric Higgins, who are tied in 40th place (+3). Junior Tom Gempel is 55th overall (+14).

The Bears leaped up two spots in the overall standings and are just five strokes out of sixth place overall. BYU continues to be the team leader at -22 overall, five strokes ahead of Charlotte.
