PROVO, Utah - Kyle Sullivan fired a one-under par round of 71 to lead the University of Northern Colorado men's golf team at the PING Cougar Classic, held at the Riverside Country Club.

Sullivan's front-nine round of 33 was tied for the second best of the day, and helped him to a tie for 20th place.

Sitting one stroke back is Eric Higgins, who had matches 36's on his way to an even-par 72.

Kyle Burns, Jonathan Stecher and Derek Hofmeister each finished with a round of 77 to cap the Bears' first-day scoring.
