SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Eric Higgins shot a four over par round of 74 to pace the University of Northern Colorado men's golf team, which opened its spring season on Monday at the Western Intercollegiate Tournament, at the Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz.

Higgins finished with a score of 152 after shooting a 78 in the day's second round, and sits in a tie for 71st.

Kyle Sullivan is six strokes behind Higgins with a 159, one better than Jonathan Stecher and Kyle Burns and two ahead of Doug Sutter.

As a team, the Bears sit in 18th
