Two-year starter, who was plagued by injuries early in his career ... along with Scott Zimmerman and Brian Scott formed one of the toughest linebacking corps in UNC history ... fierce competitor who shows great intensity on the field. 1998: Played in all 13 games, ranking second on the team with 89 tackles (43 solos) ... scored first career touchdown on a 23-yard interception return in 56-9 win over Augustana (Sept. 19, 1998) ... tallied 13 tackles in first round playoff victory over North Dakota (Nov. 21, 1998) ... notched a team-high 11 tackles in quarterfinal loss at Northwest Missouri State (Nov. 28, 1998) ... recorded nine tackles, one tackle-for-loss and one sack at Nebraska-Omaha (Oct. 24, 1998) ... forced a fumble and tallied seven tackles in 14-9 win at North Dakota (Nov. 14, 1999).

1997: Opened as the starter, but injured his knee in the first game of the season, causing him to miss three games ... was the third-leading tackler in the playoffs for UNC with 29 ... finished regular season with 34 tackles (16 solos), one sack and two tackles-for-loss.

1996: Medical redshirt season ... saw limited action due to injury ... recorded a total of five tackles, including two tackles-for-loss in only game.
