Sean Dunaway
Sean Dunaway enters his third season with the Bears, coaching
the defensive line for the second full year.
Dunaway returns just one returning lineman from last year in Big
Sky honorable mention all-conference pick John Eddy, but junior
Martin Awachie and sophomore Josh Mack both saw significant action.
In 2006, Dunaway took over as the defensive line coach midway
through the year. He has also assisted in game planning, opponent
scouting and coaching the offensive scout team.
A 2005 graduate of Appalachian State, Dunaway was a tight end on
the Mountaineer football team for four years. While at Appalachian
State, Dunaway was a four-time member of the Dean's List, as well
as a Scholar Athlete Award winner in 2005.
Dunaway has also been extremely involved with community service,
coaching youth basketball at the YMCA in his hometown of
Wilmington, N.C., as well as working with Special Olympics in
Hanover County and helping build several Habitat of Humanity Homes.
He graduated from Appalachian State with a bachelor's degree in
communication with an electronic media concentration in 2005. He
also received a minor in political science.
