Charles Barrett

Will give the Bears plenty of experience as a starting safety in 2004 ... hard, hitting defensive back that will see plenty of action on the defensive side of the ball as well as special teams ... talented special teamer that can block a kick when called upon.

2003: Saw action in 10 games ... drew two starting assignments when the Bears began the game with nickel coverage ... notched at least one tackle in all 10 games he played ... nabbed his only interception of the season in a 29-25 win at Southern Utah (Nov. 8) ... tallied a season-high five tackles in the Bears' 41-0 triumph over Augustana (Nov. 15).

2002: Played in all 14 games ... notched a season-high eight tackles in the 27-24 overtime win at St. Cloud State (Oct. 12) ... tallied his first career interception in a 27-14 victory over Minnesota State, Mankato (Sept. 28) ... credited with two blocked kicks.

2001: Saw action in one game ... made two total tackles in a 41-6 win against Adams State (Sept. 8).

2000: Redshirted.

High School: Named first team all-state (class 4A) by the Rocky Mountain News ... honorable mention all-state selection by the Denver Post ... earned first team all-conference honors as a senior ... excellent in pass coverage and makes the sure tackle ... has 4.6 speed in the 40-yard dash ...high school coach: Tom Sandavol.
