GREELEY, Colo. - University of Northern Colorado senior right-handed pitcher T.R. Keating was today drafted by the Baltimore Orioles.

Keating was drafted in the 34^th round as the 1,016^th overall selection in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

"T.R. was competitive against a difficult schedule the last two years," said Head Coach Kevin Smallcomb. "He was a double major in social sciences and criminal justice and was recently named the social science student of the year which is a great accomplishment."

He is the first Bear drafted since Brennan Garr went in the eighth round of the 2006 draft (268^th pick) to the Texas Rangers and Tyler Pearson went as the 887^th selection in the 30^th round to the Kansas City Royals.

Keating posted six wins and two saves in his two seasons with Northern Colorado in 33 appearances. He struck out 90 batters in 111 innings of work, while walking just 25.
