OMAHA, Neb. - Creighton University scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first en route to a 17-6 victory over the University of Northern Colorado baseball team on Sunday, leading to a series sweep over the Bears. The Bluejays (30-11) used seven hits - including three extra-base hits - and a pair of walks to achieve the double-digit inning, marking only the second time this season that Northern Colorado (10-26) has allowed as many runs in an inning. In the fourth, John Ray and Grady Gorman had back-to-back singles before Adam Symons laced a two-out double down the left field line, scoring Ray. Trey Keene followed with a ground-rule double to right, scoring Gorman and Symons. Keene scored the inning's final run on a Phil Santucci single. Symons added two more runs in the eighth with a two-run homer to left, scoring Chad Murray for the Bears' final runs. Creighton scored three runs in both the sixth and eighth innings to pull away for the win. Ray went 4-for-5 to pace the Bears on offense, while Gorman added three more of the team's 15 hits.
