Northern Colorado Football Coach Relieved of Duties
Dec. 2, 2005
GREELEY, Colo. - University of Northern Colorado Director of Athletics Jay Hinrichs announced on Friday that O. Kay Dalton has been relieved of his head football coaching duties effective immediately.
Dalton was Northern Colorado's 14th head coach and went 38-31 in six seasons.
"We want to thank Coach Dalton and his staff for the contributions they have made to the football program over the past six years," said Hinrichs. "After considerable thought and reflection I decided that the timing is right to make a change in the coaching staff and move in a different direction."
A search committee has been formed and the position posted in accordance with the usual human resources procedures at Northern Colorado, to begin the process of finding Dalton's successor.
