Former UNC Gridder Brad Pyatt Signs Free Agent Contract With Indianapolis Colts

Former University of Northern Colorado football player Brad Pyatt signed a free agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League on Thursday.

Pyatt, a native of Arvada, Colo., played wide receiver for the Bears in 2002 as UNC advanced to the NCAA Div. II national semifinals and won the North Central Conference championship. Pyatt played in 12 games in 2002 and caught 23 passes for 401 yards and four touchdowns. Pyatt's best game at UNC came in the Bears' 23-12 victory over Northwest Missouri State in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Div. II playoffs. Pyatt caught seven passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns as the Bears advanced past the Bearcats in Maryville, Mo. Pyatt transferred to UNC from the University of Kentucky.

Pyatt becomes the second member of the 2002 UNC football squad to sign a free agent deal with a National Football League team. Anthony Dunn signed a free agent deal with the Tennessee Titans earlier this spring.
