Former Bear Wade Sumpter to Be Featured in Pro Rodeo Special Saturday on CBS

GREELEY, Colo. - Former University of Northern Colorado football player Wade Sumpter will be featured in a CBS national broadcast of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's (PRCA) Pace Picante ProRodeo Chute-out which will air on Saturday, June 3 at 12 p.m. MT.

A native of Fowler, Colo., Sumpter played linebacker for the Bears from 2000-04, netting 52 tackles and a pair of sacks as a senior in 2004.

Sumpter currently competes in steer wrestling on the tour and was the co-champion of the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round at Rodeo Austin earlier in 2006. In 2004, he finished the year ranked 22nd in prize money. In 2003, he won titles at the American Royal Rodeo (Kansas City, Mo.), and SandHills Stock Show and Rodeo (Odessa, Texas).
