Hensel joined the staff in 2011 assisting the coaches in mental edge and student-athlete development. Hensel is responsible for developing the Bear football players in three core areas: intellectual development, social development and spiritual development.
In addition to his responsibilities for Northern Colorado football, Hensel directs the "Strength and Honor Code" a process designed to help individuals, business and teams identify, articulate and live powerfully by their values.
He is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in Journalism. A four year letterman at Northern Colorado in football, Hensel currently lives in Fort Collins with his wife Kristen. They have three children, daughters Taylor and Brittni and a son Lawson.
