Trio named to All-NFFCC Team

GREELEY – In the final set of awards for the 2012 season, Northern Colorado football had three players honored on the All-National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter (NFFCC) Team.
Senior return specialist Dominic Gunn was the lone selection to the first team, while he was also named to the Second Team as a wide receiver. Senior DB Marcel Gibbons and Jordan Bible were both tabbed on the Second Team for defense.
The team is made up of all the four-year football playing institutions in Colorado in Adams State, Air Force, Colorado, Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State, Colorado State-Pueblo, Fort Lewis, Northern Colorado and Western State.
Gunn finished the year with 498 kickoff return yards and 392 punt return yards and three special teams touchdowns. He also led the team with seven tackles, five solo, on special teams plays. On offense, Gunn had 49 receptions for a team-best 673 yards and six touchdowns.
Bible was the team's second-leading tackler, notching 70 in his final year in the Blue & Gold. He also had 1.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, three pass break-ups and led the team with three interceptions.
Gibbons finished his career third on the team with 69 total tackles, four pass break-ups, two forced fumbles, two interceptions and one blocked kick.
The Bears finished 2012 with a 5-6 overall record and 4-4 in Big Sky Conference play for a tie for fifth place. The team also won its final three games of the season and four of its last five.
