Honors and Awards

2011: Played in 10 of the team's 11 games, starting in seven... Caught seven passes for 68 yards... Is also the team's long snapper... Twice had a pair of catches, both at Idaho State and at Montana.

2010: Started in four games at tight end... Also served as the team’s long-snapper and made three tackles on special teams... Caught 12 receptions for 265 yards and three touchdowns... Scored a touchdown in three of the final four games of the year... Against Northern Arizona, had a career-best three catches for 97 yards.

2009 (Pima): Was an honorable mention all-conference selection as a redshirt freshman as well as a team captain... Joined the Bears for spring ball.

High School: Two-year letterwinner at Canyon Del Oro High School in Tucson, graduating in May, 2009... Also lettered two years in baseball… Named to both the All-Southern Arizona and All-Sonoran Region teams during his senior year in both baseball and football… Was the 2008 state runner-up in football and 2009 state champion in baseball, where he played in the outfield and was a pitcher.

Personal: Is the youngest of two sons of Tommy and Cindy Steele with an older brother, TJ... Born June 5 in Tucson... His brother, TJ, was selected in the 2008 MLB draft by the Houston Astros after playing collegiate baseball at Arizona... Majoring in communications.
