2011 Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention: November 22, 2011

 

2011: Played and started in 10 of the 11 games for the Bears at outside linebacker... Was an honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference selection... Recorded 93 total tackles with 39 solo stopes and four tackles for loss... Forced a fumble against North Dakota... Recorded a career-best 17 tackles in the season finale against Portland State... Tallied double figure tackles in five of his 10 games... Led the team with three interceptions, including two at Colorado State.

2010: Notched 34 total tackles, playing in all 11 games... Two of his tackles were for loss and he also tallied one pass break-up and one quarterback hurry on the year... Recorded a season-best 10 tackles at South Dakota, where he also had one of his two tackles for loss... Had multiple stops in eight of the 11 contests.

2009: Played in seven games, starting in four before the return of John Eddy to the lineup... Notched 18 total tackles with 1.5 for loss and had one quarterback hurry... Had a season-best six tackles in the season opener at Kansas and tallied at least three tackles in each of his four starts.

2008: Redshirted.

High School: Four-year letterwinner in both football and basketball and earned one letter in track & field... Recorded 130 tackles, three career sacks and one fumble recovery.

Personal: Is the youngest of two children of Butch and Regina Friend, with an older sister Camilla... Born July 18 in Denver... Is majoring in political science.
