Getting to know: Jonathan Martin
GREELEY, Colo. – Though none of the Northern Colorado football team will be joining the PBA after graduation, the Bears had a great time bowling on the official final day of fall camp.
The Bears have the second scrimmage of the fall on Saturday beginning at 9:30 am and will have a Meet and Greet immediately following. The team then begins classes on Monday as they move into their normal practice schedule.
To celebrate the quickly approaching 2011 season, uncbears.com will be highlighting a different senior on the roster. Each senior will be asked a series of questions and then those same questions will be asked to a roommate or friend on the team, as well as another player of the same position to test how well they know each other.
Jonathan Martin played in six games in his first season with the Bears, starting the season finale at Portland State. He transferred from the University of Mary and returned to Colorado following the 2008 season. He sat out in 2009 and notched five tackles for UNC in 2010. The native of Colorado Springs also had one quarterback sack in the team’s final home game of the year against Northern Arizona.
Defensive linemen Nick Hernon and Marcus Lucas took time out of their busy schedule to see how well they know Martin off the field, though Hernon said he’d rather take a final instead of answering the questions.
