Honors and Awards

2011:

2010: Started the final four games of the season at cornerback... Was fifth on the team with 47 tackles and the leader among non-seniors... Led the Bears with six pass break-ups... Also recorded two tackles for loss, one interception and he blocked a punt at South Dakota... Was one of six players to record double figures in tackles, notching 11 at Montana State.

2009 (at Colorado State): Played in 10 games, with two starts…Had 13 tackles (five solo) and one pass breakup.

2008 (at Colorado State): Played in 10 games, starting three contests at cornerback… Had 13 tackles (nine solo), one stop for loss, and one pass broken up… Made his college debut, in the starting lineup, in season opener vs. Colorado.

2007 (at Colorado State): Redshirted.

High School: Was a two-sport athlete at Ridgeview High School in Bakersfield, Calif... Invited to the Nike Combine in 2005 and California State football Down Under Bowl in 2007… A two-time all-league defensive back, also received all-league track and field and all-area honors in 2006… Was an eight-time national track and field junior Olympian… Named to dean’s list.

Personal: Born Jan. 21, in Bakersfield, Calif... Son of Craig and Tegra Owens… Has one brother.
