Gunn honored by Big Sky Conference
OGDEN, Utah -- The Big Sky Conference has selected its football players of the week for games played on Saturday, Nov. 13. Northern Colorado returner Dominic Gunn shares the special teams players of the week with Jesse Hoffman from Eastern Washington.
Gunn, a 6-0, 160-pound sophomore from Aurora, Colo., tallied 132 kick return yards on six returns in Northern Colorado’s 35-30 win over Portland State. Gunn’s 47 yard return near the end of the first half set up a 43-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass for the Bears, who trailed 27-9 at the time. Gunn finished the season with 663 kick returns, a school Division I single-season record. Gunn also had 21 receiving yards and eight punt return yards. This is his first player of the week honor.
*Note: The touchdown play at the start of the fourth quarter against Portland State was originally credited as a 77-yard rush for Patrick Walker. Upon further film review, the play has been changed to a 77-yard touchdown reception to Walker from Dylan Orms.
