High School: Earned three letters in football and four in track & field for the Impalas... Was a two-time all-conference selection... As a junior was a second-team all-state pick and got a first-team nod as a senior... Was also an all-Colorado selection in his final campaign... Owns the school records for most carries, yards and touchdowns in a season, as well as the career records for yards and career touchdowns... Averaged 180 yards per game in his final year and has a personal best time of 11.02 in the 100 meters.

Personal: Is one of seven children of Adam and Shannon Herning... Born in Steamboat Springs, Colo., on Sept. 12, 1990... Has not yet delcared a field of study.
