The Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) has announced the inaugural recipients of the Academic Progress Rate (APR) Award. The University of Northern Colorado was honored as the Big Sky Conferences highest APR in 2008-09.

Downing Announces 21 To National Letters Of Intent
University of Northern Colorado head football coach Scott Downing announced the signing of 21 players to a National Letter of Intent. The Bears have a balanced recruiting class of in state and out of state talent, signing 11 who played their high school ball in Colorado and 10 from Arizona, California and Oklahoma.

The Big Sky Conference has announced the members of the 2009 Fall All-Academic teams for men's and women's cross country, football and women's soccer and volleyball. Northern Colorado had 31 student-athletes named to the team.

Football Ends Season With Loss At No. 1 Montana
Northern Colorado had to play its final game of the 2009 season against the top-ranked team in the country on its home field on senior day, which is no easy feat, especially in front of 25,231 fans. The Bears took the early lead but couldnt hold on and Montana remained undefeated with a 38-10 victory.

Fast and Furious Rally Falls Just Short
It was the best of halves and the worst of halves for the Northern Colorado football team on Saturday against Sacramento State. The Hornets posted 31 straight points in the first half, but making use of a no-huddle offense, the Northern Colorado football team scored four unanswered touchdowns in the second half and five after the halftime break but fell just short.
