Last Time Out
Denise Kintzley led the Northern Colorado women's team to a fifth place finish at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational, Saturday at Pioneers Park in Lincoln.

The race featured five teams from the University Division (Division I) and 27 teams overall when the Division II, Division III and NAIA schools were factored in.

Kintzley finished with a time of 23:59.70, good for 16th place among the University Division runners. Katie Wiederholt (24:39.75) was 19th for the Bears, followed by Colleen Sanderlin (25th, 25:30.10), Kellie Callahan (30th, 26:18.65), Erin Apsey (31st, 26:35.55), Rachel Forrest (32nd, 27:01.65) and Allison McIntire (33rd, 27:07.95).

The Huskers had the top two finishers with Ari Goldstein (22:07.60) and Channing Anseth (22:16.90), and finished first as a team on the women's side

Finishing 13th in the University Division in a time of 27:53.45 was Charles Hillig Jr. who led the Northern Colorado men's team to a fifth place finish. Michael Trahan (19th, 28:42.20), Jeff Holt (24th, 29:10.75), Alex Grim (28th, 29:51.40), Shawn Monk (31st, 30.37.35), Ryan Woodman (32nd, 30:55.20) and Chris Turner (33rdth, 34:46.10) followed.

Nebraska claimed the University Division men's team title.

New Program
This is the first year of competition for the men's team after the program became dormant following the 1983 season.

With Northern Colorado officially becoming a member of the Big Sky Conference on July 1, the Department of Athletics had to add each men's cross country and men's and women's indoor track and field as programs.

Next Up
Both teams will travel to Boulder for the Rocky Mountain Shootout, hosted by the University of Colorado. Start time is 10:15 a.m.
